Xu Xiaoying was born on November 15 in 1979. She graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music and under the direction of Professor Chen Qilian. She is now a soloist of Shanghai Opera House.
Sept. 2003 wins the sixth place in The 14th Belgium Verviers International Vocal Competition.
July 2004 serves as soloist in Shanghai Opera House
Oct. 2005 wins the second in place The 8th Canadian Montreal & Czechoslovakia International Vocal Competition.
Mar. – Apr. 2006 wins the scholarship from French government and rehearses in Saint-Etienne, France, as Leila in The Pearl Fishers, a collaboration project.
Feb. 2007 Performs as Liù in Puccini’s Turandot.
Sept. 2007 Performs as Fan Yi in the Chinese Opera Thunderstorm
Mar. 2008 Invited by the Saint Etienne Opera House and Reims Opera House in France to perform as Leila in Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers
July 2008 Invited by opera houses in Finland and Switzerland to perform in The Sorrow of the Yellow River (from The Yellow River Cantata）and as Desdemona in Verdi’s Othello, acclaimed by the audience.
Sept. 2008 Performs the title role in Puccini’s Tosca in Shanghai Opera House.
Oct. 2009 Performs the title role in the Chinese opera Xishi in collaboration with the National Opera House.
Jan. 2010 Performs as Hanne in Lehar’s the Merry Widow in collaboration with China Philharmonic Orchestra.
