Chin-Yu Chang started her solo singing career at the age of 18. She sings English, Japanese, Jazz, Latin and classic Chinese songs. However, her remakes of Teresa Teng’s classics won her the nickname “Little Teresa Teng” and brought her fame.
In recent years she has been invited to the Venetian Macau Hotel to give performances of Teresa Teng’s classic hits, which were well received among tourists especially those from Hong Kong and Macau. In 2011, she participated in the competition on remakes of Teresa Teng’s songs, and won first place in the 2nd round and second place in the finals. Later, she became popular in northern Taiwan, attracted wide media coverage, and was often invited by the Teresa Teng Foundation to perform on various events. Currently she’s casted in the Taiwanese variety show “Legend of Teresa Teng” directed by famed producers Wei-Chong Wong and Nien-Tsu Hsieh.
In Apr 2012, in cooperation with Giant Records (fjcf.com.tw) and producer Fu Chang, Chang released her first album named “A Thousand Years”. The album consists of Teresa-style sweet love songs, by which Chang sought to inherit the hallmark sweetness and warmth of Teresa Teng’s voice and to spread Teng’s heart-warming musical spirit.
